I would like to know if anyone knew of another food to feed silkworms besides mulberry leaves and silkworm chow? I'd just like to know if it's been tried and what the verdict was.

Is lettuce ok to feed them if not raising to adults?
Last question. How do I find out if there are any mulberry trees in my area?

Sorry for all the questions :)

After September look for small to medium sized trees with heart shaped leaves and red berries, heaps of people have them, they are not that hard to find, you can also get a commercial food called Silkworm Chow, I think there are a few suppliers around online.

Cheers Gex

I found a place on the net that sells silkworm chow. I might give it a go. Have you found silkworms easier to grow than crix?

Its a bit hard to compare the two, but Silkworms are easy so long as you dont bruise them or allow mould to grow
