lol no problem Just remember a snake can go long periods of time with out food so if your going away I suggest not feeding him as this is safer for if the power was to go out or your heat matt stopped working

Cheers Lewy

ohh ok...

can u explain the reason behind not feeding venum if the power goes out/ mat dies...

are they rendered useless in terms of physical shape when they feed?

Without the heat the food will rott in its stomach.
As they need the heat to digest their food properly.

Just Reptiles need heat to digest food so if he has a full belly and the power was to go out (for a long period of time) then a snake can die from this. More so if the heat source was to blow and your away for a few days then the food will no longer digest and can lead to health problems even death.
Just remember it is winter now so a few hours of no heat will cool the snake very fast

thank you for the explaination... it makes sense...

so how long usually does the food take to digest in its belly???

i was told by simon not to handle him untill 48 hours later, i will be home in about 72 hours... so thats ok... is there a reason for that though? do they get defensive when they are digesting?

thank you.

i will get someone to check the temperature every few hours when im gone incase something happens..

It all depends on the temp and condition of the snake also how much it ate and so forth

I don't handle any of my snakes for about 2-3 days after a feed as its just not nice for them on a full belly

The one thing people need to remember is that they are not a pet dog and don't like to be handled for long periods of time and should really be more of a look but don't touch animal get them out once a week and or for cleaning etc

Cheers Lewy

i wont be handling them for the purpose of fun and joy... i want to get it use to been handled so it doesnt bite me one day when its big!:)

thanks for the tips...

i post more pic up once venum starts to shed in a couple of weeks

looking good so now you wait for pees then poos then a break i wait about two to three days then feed again thats what works for me :)

Congrats on the 1st feed going well. I have read and had a chuckle at alot of your recent questions or more 2it what people are telling you and I think its gr8 that your asking them. Even when you cop alot of flack from others from continuing to do your thing, you still keep asking!!! There seems to be more than heaps of people on this site that know exactly what is suppose to happen and I have learnt a few things myself. Hopefully you may just listen to some of their advice??? PS. Venum is a cutie
