Hi there! I have made the decision to finally get a pet snake which has been a dream of mine for years. I would appreciate any and all advice and tip anyone might have for a new snake owner and how I can give them the upmost best care I can! I live in Sydney Australia and not sure of any good places to go or see for equipment, also if it helps I am thinking of getting a Children’s python after going to a reptile expo and seeing how gorgeous they looked, I have done some research on them and they seem to be the best fit for me and my lifestyle. Anything I should know about caring for a children’s python as a first time snake owner.

Hello mate children’s very good choice for your first snake they will not cost much to feed to start off and gives you an animal that reaches a very manageable size once fully grown
Sorry I’m not using punctuation I’ve had a serious traumatic brain injury so it takes me a long time to type all the antaresia are great snakes to start with and now with all the morphs there is no end to colours but I rather just have the pure location animals the biggest thing is deciding if you want a neonate juvenile or get a yearling or older animal each comes with its own pros and cons what ever you decide you must ensure the animal is feeding and has had no significant issues like bad shedding look at the animals tail cloaca eye area and general sheen of skin and also the weight of the animal it should not have been power fed ie pin head syndrome can be some thing to look out for
In general if you google children’s python for sale in aus a reptile forum seller site should come up and there is a long list of animals out there for sale and cheaper than a pet shop unless you have a good reptile pet shop near by down there are a lot more pet shops than up my way in Queensland please ask any specific questions you have good to hear you have done research
