Hey guys just a curiosity, If you have chosen to feed you python in a seperate box to it's normal enclosure is it best to have the same substrate that is in their regular enclosure or does it not really make a difference? Any opinions appreciated

Hi,

When i feed in a seperate box i generaly use no substrate to avoid any odd chance that it might get swollowed. I supose you could use news paper or something like that too.

I generally just have paper in the bottom, but if there is none in there at the time it doesn't matter. Usually the only thing i have is a hide in there incase they want it. I put a towel over the tub anyway. Doesn't really matter because they are usually not in there for any more than 30mins or so.

Paper or nothing. I only use paper if i plan on keeping the snake in the feeding enclosure until it craps.

I use a piece of news paper on the bottom of the feeding tub more for something to grip on rather than slipping around on the plastic...

Nothing - fear of ingesting substrate is the reason I feed in a seperate tub.

Snakes are really smart critters they only eat what they know is good for them...
