Just wondering if there is a reason not to feed before breeding. I have a male bredli which got snake mites right at the wrong time. They're nearly all gone now but I was wondering if he should have a feed to bring his condition back up a bit before pairing with the female.

There is nothing wrong with feeding males whilst breeding but.... it could stop them from copulating whilst they are digesting which could only be for a week or so, but then if it goes into slough as well then stops for another 2 weeks, that first week could of been critical if you get my meaning.... ie; you want to have both snakes in primo condition beforehand so you have the least amount of problems to increase your chances of success.

Thanks, I want to be sure there are no mites left on him before transferring to the female's enclosure, so during the last week or so of treatment, he might need a small feed to bring his condition back from the mites.
