this site dose wonders for advertising your mysterious fire water slatey.
as a keen drinker unable to be satisfide by the current market selection
i was wondering if you could fill me in on a bit more info about your
so called drink of drinks? (that no one can handle  )

Me thinks it is probably Grappa which is a spirit distilled from grape stems.
Only Slatey knows for sure.

i need real details....but thx any way
it still sounds good even with that short slight loss of eye site
it would be good to get some reviews from those who have tried it

er...I wasnt joking.
Grappa is a popular spirit amost Europeans.
Many a cocky young man has ended up driving the porcelein bus after one too many shots of Grappa.

I've tried it and lived to tell the tale.
I'm not by any means a drinker. In fact if I have 1 alcoholic drink in a year then that's a big year. I tried it at my place when we had an APS gathering here. I liked it, it was sweet and potent. I had a very small glass and was half prissed after it. As some of you may know, the Pom excelled himself that day on Firewater. The grass still hasn't grown back on the spot where he chundered in my backyard.

Greg.

HAPPY EASTER EVERY 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL you devils.
Luke; My firewater is destilated from anything available at the moment. Last month I picked about 200 kg wrotten peaches from markets and stuff I am getting is excelent.
The one Steve the pom had at Gregs place was from corn, and I deluted to 55 % alcohol strenght. I personally like to have it 70 %. But not many people can handle that high alcohol volume. When it comes from the pipes it is about 85 %
Greebs; grappa is nice I had it many years ago in Thesaloniki
Fuscus; I do not keep first 200 ml. That is the metylalcohol. Metylalcohol is evaporating first in temperature 50C. after you get alcohol. alcohol need 60C temperature.

HA HA Grebs. I can make drop from anything. 7 generation of trade in my family. We had brew and alcphpl destilation plant in 1827. My antsisters sign soul to devil.

thx is there any good sites on how to get started doing this kind of thing my self, sounds like a bit of fun

"Antsisters" cracked me up. I still managed to work out that it meant ancestors.
Home brewing is surprising simply Luke. I am sure that a google search would turn up a wealth of information.
A bloke in our baseball team brews his own beer. He made a batch of "chilli beer" where each stubbie had it's own little chilli pepper inside. It was wicked stuff.

Luke,
Check the yellow pages for "Brewing Suppliers", there are plenty around these days, with startup kits for less than $100. You can even buy most of the ingredients in places like Woolworths and Coles these days.

Slatey: is your Firewater similar to Aquavit?

Hix and Grebs. Home brewing is simple, but I am destilating and that is different. But not hard to master. You just have to make the stil by your self as it is not for sell anywhere.
This little of hobby of mine is ilegal I thing here in australia. But I am not seling the stuff so I guess is ok. I think that police have no time to chase bloke who is making small amount of drop for him self.
Grebs, Looks like I invented new world to my Slatesman englisch dictionary.

According to this site

http://www.countrybrewer.com.au/category87_1.htm

in Australia it is illegal to own a still over 5 litres in capacity. You can own a still that size for the extraction of oils fom herbs, or for water purification, but it is illegal to use a still to produce alcohol.

Best kep yours in the basement Slatey !!!
