Hey Guys,

I finally got a trail cam and set it near home ....this is the first pic...a young buff..kind of cool

You could set that up in some parks around Melbourne and get some interesting erm..... wildlife pics.

MMM that little Buff looks tasty, trail cams are great for recon work esp up here where large areas can be covered by game.

Drool. Yummo.

Can you rig a rifle to fire at the same time?

Actually what sort of motion detector are you using?

Delicious!

Is this on the hunting reserves?

Yeah Mate,

Right up the top of the reserve. I am only after pigs though. There are a few getting about but because every man and his dog goes there they are hard to track down. I figure if i find a good trail and leave the cam up for a while I will be able to narrow it down a bit.

Are these guys really good to eat?
I have tried beefalo and though it pretty good, How would you describe the flavour?

Young buff is delicious!

It tastes like chicken ha ha

Hey Guzzo, we camped out at Point Fright at the top of Gunn Point the last two nights.

It rained all Friday night but no probs, we set up a good camp. At sunrise a WOMPER storm came through and shredded our camp! Even the boat (still on the trailer) was full to the brim with water! The muddies have gone offshore breeding so all we got were juvies and beaten up old buggers who couldn't get to the offshore party. There was so much freshwater in the creek the fish (you could see them) would not touch bait (including livies) or lures.

Last night I was stunned to get woken up by a buff walking through the camp. There is sea on three sides and 2km of saltpans and mangroves to get through before you reach woodland!

We didnt get much but it was so beautiful puttering up the long skinny mangrove creek at sunset. The only decent muddie we got was speared on the bank where he'd gone to escape the FW. Wouldnt miss it for quids!

Sounds Great Steve,

see any pigs??

It is a great place but full of cowboys. Today i was quietly walking around a water hole looking for pigs....it was lovely and calm....birds all over the place then a ute load of cowboys pulled in jumped out and began shooting at everything in sight. I was on the other side and got rained on by shot. I like my hunting but to me that is not hunting. When I went to my car I saw they had dropped all their rubbish on the ground.....this sort of stuff really annoys me!

100% with you mate. The spot we were at this weekend is regularly trashed. We take out a garbag of our rubbish and two of other people's on average. My mate & I have become a bit more aggressive with the perps, stern chat and a garbag to the chest. Nonetheless they keep doing it. I just dont get it!!??

A lot of it is Mexicans but there is a real body of inebriated local rural youth going to town on the pretty places too. They dont know it but they are pulling a complete nanny state down on themselves AND those of us who treat the place with respect.

There are too many clowns driving daddy's boat or 4WD without giving country the respect it deserves. It's their loss but unfortunately it's ours too.

Yeah, I don't know how hard it is to just take rubbish with you. The older I get the more I want my space....trouble is even up here there is not enough space....I am becoming a bit of a hermit haha The more people i meet the more I like my cat hahah
