Just a quick question i want to know before i buy another lot of food, my woma is currently feeding on 2 fuzzy mice a week and i was thinking of upgrading to 1 hopper rat a week, her head is about the size of, between, a 5c - 10c coin. Would she be able to eat a hopper rat?
Thanks Joelysmoley

I don't know what size you consider a hopper rat but judge it by the thickest point of her body. Either way I'm going to say if you think she can, she will be able to.

Most people seem to think they can't eat big meals, they can stretch A LOT.

Thanks for the heads up about the width of there body, didn't think of that.

Feed around 15-20% of their body weight. Mine went right onto hoppers, when I got him. The hoppers I got are around 8-12g. He is now on weaner 13-18, has being since late January. I am about to up hos food to hopper rats around 20-30g. I can't believe how quickly he is growing. I just weighed him properly and he is 119g :)

I prefer to keep my snakes onto mice as long as I can , adult mice are about 30 grams and jumbo are even bigger. I do this because rats that have not been fully weaned do not have the same nutrients as weaned rats because a bulk of the food comes from milk.

I think your baby could easily take fuzzy / hopper rats. I start woma hatchies on weaner mice/pink rats/day old quail. They graduate to fuzzy rats pretty quickly so yours should be fine to do so.

If you want a definitive answer try posting a photo of your woma with its next feed.

She gets each of them down within 2 minutes

As I was feeding my MD and Jungle last night, it never ceases to amaze me at just how big a feed item they can down, even when I fed my spotted hatchie the other night, it was the same

Hey mate - My Woma's ~5months old now, and she's been on hopper rats since mid feb.

If she is eating two fuzzies at around 8g each them she should be fine going straight to hopper rats that weigh around 10-25g :)

May I say, Charli is gorgeous!!! <3

Just too tag onto this thread as I have a woma too. I weighed him yesterday and he is 288 grams, I have just weighed his mouse and it was 24 grams. Should I be feeding him 2 of these mice at once? He is a year old and around 90cms long.
