Hello guys
This morning my brothers spotted a frog inside our house. In our garden we used to have stripped marsh frogs but they are gone now. This frog was not looking to healthy at all. It had fluff and other stuff attached to his/her legs. It could jump 100% fine but looks very skinny and dehydrated. We have put it in a tub (note i don't want to keep this frog as a pet we are just trying to help it) with around 3-4cm of water and a place where the frog can come out. i just have a few questions:
1. The frog has spots on it is natural or is it some sort of infection.
2. The frog is very skinny what sort of food should we offer him?
3. Can someone please ID the frog. He's about 3cm-4cm long dark brown colour with bumps every now and then.
4. Is there any thing else we can do to help the frog before we realise him , or should we not realise him because he may spread the possible infection he may have.
5. Should we try to remove the fluff and dust off his legs? Or wait for it to come off naturally?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not trying to keep this guy as a pet i just want to help him.
Sorry for the horrible photos it the best i can do.
Cheers Joe

update:
The fluff has now fallen off the frog. I discovered that he can climb up the glass suggesting that he is some sort of tree frog?

im thinking people would need clearer pics or at least a general location to go with ur descrpition to give u an ID, all i can see is a blurry blob!

as far as i know frogs are insect eaters, my GTF loves crickets and roaches...so id offer him a few of those.

After some internet searching i have figured that she/he is a Broad palmed tree frog.

It is a Litoria ("Tree Frog") by the looks and from what you have said of its climbing ability. However, L. latopalmata has a sharp snout and the frog in the photo has a blunt snout. I could suggest some other possibilities but withou knowing even a general locality, there is little point. If you took not of the colours in the groin and behind the thighs and also the armpits, they can be major help.

Yhe fact that it had dust and fluff suck to it, indicates it was dehydrated and the waterproofing they apply to their skin become very sticky. So you did the right thing by placing it in shallow water for a while. Amazing howall the muck just shakes off in the water once they are rehydrated. You also used agood sizedcontainer, which is thr right thing to do. They can be put in jar knee-deep in water but if left without a water change for a couple of days, or longer, it is likely for them to pass sufficient wastes that the water becomes toxic and kills them.

I'm sorry I haven't kept you all updated I have been away lately. We put the frog in a tub for a day or so. The fluff came off very easily after that. We then let him go in a pond near our house where i am sure he wil have a lot of food and be very happy.
Cheers joe
