Hello Folks

Does anyone know why the website frogs australia seems to be down? or has it suddenly been taken down permanently?

I was only on it less then a week ago checking something out and went to continue downloading frog calls today and it's gone or timing out or something.

Any info would be great

cheers

From memory whatever organisation that was in control of that site ceased upgrading or adding to it a few years ago (like 4 or 5 years maybe). I used to submit a few bits & pieces to it but stopped when I received correspondence indicating that they were going to let it go. Surprised it's taken this long.

Looks that way. According to Whois, that website has expired jedi

Cheers CHRI5 and SniperCap.

It's a shame to lose a good online frog resource, If anyone knows of any other websites on par with frogsaustralia or better (bearing in mind I'm currently in QLD so a detailed guide on Victorian frogs won't necessarily cut it) that would be appreciated.

cheers

The field guide to the frogs of Queensland by Eric Vanderduys has just been released

Cheers Scott

Have you seen the book yet?
If so how would you rate it comparative to some of the other hard copy field guides?

There really isn't a good field reference book as yet for Australian frogs.

Bought it anyway

I have not got it yet. But I expect it will be of good quality and use going by who the author is.

cheers
