I have had my Darwin python now for a month and the previous owner told me that he had shed about a week or two before we got him. He eats fine and I assumed it was normal for him to go around 4-6 weeks between sheds so everything was fine, Until now. We have just pulled him out of his click clack container to find that a couple of his scales seem to have skin coming off of them and there is white stringy stuff in his water bowl where he has been spending the majority of his time. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this who may be able to help. My first thought was to take him to a vet but If you guys are able to help and save me a trip then I would very much appreciate it (I don't have a problem with taking him to the vet, it's just we only have one vet on the coast who looks at reptiles and he is very hard to get into).

not sure if its something to worry about, as he looks like he is about to shed . just never seen this before

Looks like it's about to shed and has roughed up a few scales...

What about this stuff in the water bowl? pics of that?
