Something a bit like this but with gaps between the rocks much smaller, so that he can only just fit in.

Fantastic setup MrBredli- is it yours by chance?

Heres a pic of my current setup. Currently kept outside and doing very well given the crazy weather we've been facing. Only problems is that i currently dont have any tight little crevices for them to tuck into- WIP if you will (work in progress that is).

Mr Bredli, that pic is awesome, is it your enclosure? Just gave me some ideas for my little goanna's tank!! Thank you!!!

*Sorry for going off your general topic reptilegirl, I just had to comment on that enclosure!*

is the red desert sand best?

I don't like, and don't use, red desert sand - I found it to be very expensive and stain my lizards (I don't keep gex but just my opinion on the sand)...I use Botany Bay sand for my lizards, it's cheap, no foreign bits in it, and doesn't stain them red...

i actually like the red stains on some lizards, looks natural

I keep my Central Netted Dragons and my Knobtail geckos on red sand.
I find that the red sand stains my dragons, but my gecko's always have snowy-white bellies even though they spend all their time lying on and digging in the red dirt from the same bag.

I dunno why, but thats what happens with my lot.

Braod tails like to be kept cold 15 - 20 deg. they also like to be verticle, so a fish tank isn't the best setup unless you have some kind of backing for them to cling too. I use a sand/ peat mixture for substrate and kept a little moist. Heating can be benificial for gravid females if you can keep the ambient temp down. If you mix sand and paint and paint the inside of your glass tank with several coats, this will give them something to climb on. Must keep under 30 deg!

Now I do not keep Phyllurus species but that is a terrible enclosure In my opinion. The animal has no where to hide, no natural theme to it (when compared to its natural environment/ habitat) and like Jason has mentioned, No Height.

These animals are almost strictly arboreal and need to be kept in similar conditions to what Twiggz or Mr.bredli have shown. Do not use red desert sand for these animals, use Coir-Peat alone or mixed with yellow sand. Give it a water bowl and set it up right. High Exo-Terras seem good for allowing height.

I do not want to come across Rude/ mean and or aggressive.

ok well this is what i got the animal in. so im changing it of course!.i got some yellow sand so im gonna mix it with some cor peat and im going to get a taller tank soon
thanks and the animal is in not good shape so im trying my best thanks
ps.rocket u did seem rude but its ok cause ur right
