Ok so one of my levis im looking after is shedding and hes eating his skins is this normal? hahaaa just curious it looks quite strange!

Thanks

On Adrian Hemens' Reptile World series, he shows a gecko doing just that, can't remember which species, but yeah, wouldn't be alarmed.

My Levis all eat their skins, most of the time there is nothing left, the only indicator is they were white before hand and now look new lol.

apparently the reason they eat it was that it has nutritional value for them and coz they don't leave their shed behind in case of a predator or something. saw it on adrian's reptile

Ok thanks all!
i got him out and helped him cause he was having some trouble then gave back his skin and he munched it down! was cute!

The first time my babies shed I was so confused and couldn't figure out where the skin had gone until my lil bro told me they eat it!

its nice to see an albino gecko.........even if it is just for a couple of hours :p

heard its really nutritional for them, just make sure they get it all off their toes, can be a problem with smaller geckos...
