My Dad once had me and my brother pushing his ford station wagon around an underground carpark, because it wouldnt start, middle of summer bout 40 in the shade. Guess who was almost dead of ehaustion before the bloody idiot realised he had his killswitch on! ....."Not happy Jan!" (aka tv Add)

well i know what i would have said to him even if it meant a clip around the ears

You can tow start them greebs, just gotta get them over 40km an hour.

I think on a site like this differing points of view are a spin- off and I think can contribute positively to everyone's learning. When there is a differing of views, you will find that "opposing" individuals will present different perspectives, facts and different experiences that allow people to appreciate and maybe incorporate into their own husbandry practises.
What a boring world it would be if we all sat back and accepted passively what we knew/felt to be either incorrect or unfair.
Regards Rina. :p

Rina,

I think Phantom's original message was not to discourage debate, but to discourage the childish namecalling at general sarcastic, non-constructive attacks that have occasionally cropped up.

Debate?.... Yes
Discussion about herp related opinion?.....Yes
Conflict debated with mutual respect and with out bad language and personal attacks?.....Yes

Problem is that not many people is able to fallow this rules.
I personally would not enjoy to debate with Cybre Crime again and I am sure that many of us remember his style. His debate end up with e-mails to people abusing them, and threating to kill them.
If debate is carried in proper way with consideration to feelings for your opponent, mods are not concerned. This type of debate are happening here on APS regularly and we have no problem with it.

Hix,
I was in no way aiming my post at anyone let alone Phantom. GEEEZ.. :?
I was posting a comment just to share my views on how a forum like this which allows a flow of differing view points from assorted individuals who express opinions differently, is benificial to those who are interested in learning. Whether this is done in a manner that is jovial or sometimes heated.
As for misinterpretaion I could run a mile with the rest of your post but I choose to "interpret" it as a casual, across the board observation you have made as a member of APS. :p

Regards Rina

Rina,

I wasn't suggesting you were aiming your post at anyone, I just thought you might have missed the original point of the thread. Obviously, I was wrong and you were making a statement related to the topic.

I can't actually see how the rest of my post could be misinterpreted, but I'm glad you're taking it as a general, innoffensive statement as that what it was meant to be.

Maybe I also need to put more smileys in :D

That's it!
Apparently you can say just about anything as long as you put plenty of smiley faces in. People need to be able to know whether you are joking or not.
I'm a true smiley convert now. I love the little buggers.
