One of my tristis monitors left an unusual package. Does anyone know what it is and is it something that I should be concerned about?

Have you changed their diet at all Oshkii? Are they acting the same and appear healthy?

Forgot to mention that this belongs to my largest tristis. Diet is still the same, the two smaller monitors are eating regularly and defecating normally. The largest tristis was never a big eater but always held condition well. A few weeks ago he escaped the enclosure and hasn't fed since as far as I can tell, I thought his reluctance to feed was due to my catching him and replacing him back in the enclosure. All three are very sensitive to change or handling, and take a while to get over it. Still appears to be behaving normally. He comes out to bask and wonder around, although he seems keen on testing the enclosure for further escape routes now. I'd prefer not having to catch him and take him out for an inspection as it really stresses him out. Although soon I may do it anyway as I may be doing an upgrade to the enclosure.

Has he lost any condition? I just showed the photo to the other half of pinefamily and she thinks it could be liver related but is not sure.

That doesn't sound good. What would I have to look out for if there's a liver problem? What causes it? Doesn't look like his condition has changed, maybe has lost a little weight and seems to be basking perhaps a bit longer but other than that seems pretty normal. I'll see if I can have a closer look at him today.

She wasn't sure, just remembered reading somewhere about the green relating to liver issues. Don't want to alarm you, it might be nothing. Perhaps a vet visit is in order.

How long did he escape for? Could he have consumed something whilst out?

I hope it's nothing serious.

I have an appointment tonight with my vet for my tristis, I'll mention it, but I'd agree that a vet visit would be the best thing.

Thanks, let me know what they think.

I'd say a couple of hours. Found him scaling the fly-screen of the door in the laundry. Gave my sister's boyfriend a fright seeing this big black lizard that apparently swallows souls in full view like that. I'm not sure what he could have consumed as I don't leave food out and I don't use poisons of any sort. Although the woody tub's also located in the laundry. But it didn't look like he ate any as he's not much of an insect eater anyway. Maybe he tasted some soap?

Well he had a feed today so I would like to see what his next package looks like before thinking of taking him to the vet. I really think dragging him out of his hide and transporting him and being force handled would take a huge toll on him.
