Hey,

Im looking at getting some GTF's in the coming weeks. I have attached a picture copied from a website of a shop (name and price omitted so i dont break site rules).

What are you're opinions of the enclosures for a GTF?

im in melbourne so if they dont have it already, can i fit a water heater to them?

I think they are pretty standard in frog enclosures so you all probably know rough dimensions. How many adult frogs could i put in there?

Also, can a mod answer this... can i put the price up? NOT the shop but the price? i could even pm you the name of the shop if need be?

I would always recommend something with drainage but they can be a little harder to organise. You need aprox 1 foot of space per adult green tree (depending on the height, and depth of the tank as well) so it would depend on what the measurements of the tanks are.

i THINK the one on the left is 61cm x 46cm x 61cm and the right one the same but only 46cm high.

not sure about the middle. the brand isnt listed but i think they're the exo terra ones.

idk i have 5 adult gtf in a 4 foot enclosure and they all sit up thew one end the whole time lol

That one you could probable house three to four adult GTF's comfortable.

Where are you getting your frogs from? There is a huge problem with disease in the frog trade at the moment.

sweet. thats what i wanted to hear. i want maybe 3.

with GTFs to introduce a new animal, how do i do that? or would i have to get them all at one time? same size is a given but is it just a matter of putting them in there and thats that?

do males fight?

how do i tell what sex i have?

EDIT: im hoping to pick some up at the expo... is that not recommended? if not then probably upmarket aquarium when they have some in.

Males don't fight.
They have to be mature to sex them. If they croak (call) then they are boys or if they get nuptial pads they are boys (a rough patch on there thumbs that help them grip the female).
The problem is that if they don't call they could be immature or a boy that doesn't want to call!!

If you get them from different suppliers or at different times you will need to quarantine them, two months min is recommended.
