Can any one tell me if a green tree python has a kinked tail can it still breed?

if it is born with a kinked tail...why would you want to breed with it...if it is a genetic problem you are taking the risk of passing it on to the offspring of the snake ?

There is a lot of reasons as to why the python would have a kinked tail, I wouldn't just say genetic straight away.

Try breeding once, if it turns out it is genetic I wouldn't do it again.

I think it was a problem from being probbed at 2 years of age. It doesnt seem that bad, just a bump on the dorsel side opposite the vent.
So you dont think all is lost?

Probing a 2 year old would not cause a tail kink, tail kinks can be caused by miss handling, birth defects, sexing at a young age etc. Most of the time it does not affect the animal in living a normal life and being able to breed.

It depends though, if the probing was done incorrectly enough to visibly damage the tail, who knows the damage that could have been done to the hemipenil pockets,

Im sure a more experienced chondro keeper will answer the question

We can only speculate what caused the kink. Is it male or female?

Probing rarely causes reproductive compromise, even when perforation takes place (there are references to it, I just don't have them on hand).
If the kink is directly above the cloaca, it can (but may not) compromise the mating mechanics, particularly in males.

The snake is from a reputable bloodline in Sydney. I have probed it at 2y old with the upmost of care and being well aware of the dangerous of sexing with this species. I have resonable experience in probing with outher pythons. I very much appreciate your advice.

Mate, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
You still didn't tell us whether it's a male or a female, but it's probably not that important. The kink is not huge, in fact, I have a theory about thin but ..... next time.

cheers
