Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. The thing I've been dreading for quite some time - a botched execution! First I drop the rat (accidently) at which it takes off under the car at 6 million miles an hour! Whilst I was in hot pursuit, I accidently stepped on it, much to the HORROR of my 2 yr old daughter - I don't think my son was all that worried though. I then proceeded to try and quickly put the twitching thing out of it's misery by belting it's head on the bricks coming up to the front porch at which stage it's tail skin separates from it's tail and flies somewhere over my shoulder -CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS???!!! I STILL CAN'T!!! after retrieving the flying rat I finally managed to quickly end what I thought was going to be a quick & painless process! MY GOD BRING ON THE C02. I try to teach the kids some humility when it comes to knocking the rats on the head but please! This was absolutely ridiculous! All I was missing was the Benny Hill Music

a few faulty towers episodes are jumping to mind here mate.... i think it is time you looked at the gas option for the sake of the kids, your self, and the neighbour that was standing there with the handycam..... hey owes you half the prize money from funniest home vids :)

Another good reason for rabbit sausages i feel.

Have you got many people buying your sausages stockeh?Do you know of anyone who has used them with jungles?Quite often jungles will not take rats so i was just wondering?

i am not too sure about jungles but so far i have sold a fair few and all of the people i have sold to have reported posative things.... i have had no negative feedback so i am guessing that is a good thing.

One lady actually cooks hers in a frying pan, and another guy boils his in water to firm them up prior to feeding, all early reports indicate no problems feeding though.

Take care
Matt

Still shaking my head and it's the next day! Any other time I've done this has been quick & easy. This time was like everything I could imagine going wrong...going wrong! sigh.....The only one happy about it was the snake lol

I can believe it Moose, I had a very similar thing happen.
I brought a rat inside to the laundry. He must of got wind of what was in store for him as he suddenly went beserk and twisted and kicked until the skin on his tail came away in my grip.
He shot off through the kitchen and under the kitchen table, blood going everywhere. The g/f started screaming "Get it out!Get it out!" but I couldn't reach the rat under the table. I grabbed the nearest thing I could find which was a Baseball bat.So I am on the floor under the table trying to get the rat out and I am getting blood all over the bat, my shirt and my arms.(who knew a little rat could have so much blood)when there is a knock at the door. It was the insistent knock of the kid next door who always wants to borrow DVD's.I thought that ADD was a load of rubbish until I met this kid.
I finally get the rat and this kids still knocking on the door "I know your home!". I reef open the door and I must of made quite a sight, covered in blood and holding a Baseball bat.
"What?"I demanded.
The kids jaw dropped and his eyes buldged then he shrieked and ran off.
He hasnt borrowed a DVD since, so it wasnt all bad.

oh greebs your now the local crazy person!!!!!
oh moosey, i fell off my chair!!!

even my boyfriend found it amuzing
next time get it all on video
i would pay to see that!

What horror stories. Frozen for me too please.

Horror tales but amusing. after the fact.
lol Fawlty Towers - Basil the rat? Or Hamster - it's now ratatouille.

Em

Yes yes you all should buy gas cylinders and leave the blood and skinless tails behind.

Wait a minute.....I heard Basil Brush from A.B.C television, was due to make a big "comeback" show but misteriously dissappeared on route to the studio, when his cab took a wrong turn in a tough neighbourhood. he hasn't been seen since! ....Sure your tellin us everything Greebo??  (might've been a Basil Brush D.V.D the kid wanted?

its times like this i feel sorry (more than usual) for mice and rats

GO THE GASS

I thought it was a fluke that I'd had a rat that lost the skin off it's tail while I was holding it..t'was a frozan rat, but offputting all the same.
Those strories of quick and easy death gone wrong are hilarious.

I have a really difficult time feeling sorry for rodents. They don't look cute at all and the 1st time I fed a live pinky to a hatchling I almost brought my dinner up when it squeaked. It sounds heartless but I was all for the snake.
Sorry Beks - I meant all rodents except Rory. The spoilt rat.
Muddy

I like my rodents, I am actually using the oppourtunity to develop a breed of rat that is not in this country.

Have been working on it for about 15 months now. Probably have 2 years to go until I get what I want. Then I will release it on the pet rat scene.

What is it? Will it be able to commit suicide so people never have to euthanase again?
