Yeah, but he does it in SUCH a nice way!

Byjungle,
the same thing happend to me with BC. Stuck in my snakes throat(two big bulges). I couldn't get him to open his mouth so I left him for a little while. I came back it was further down his throat, so i got him out and went to have another look and it was gone completely. Lucky it passed through ok otherwise YIKES. To close a call for me, back to newspaper.
Cheers sim

Hey guys
Thanx for your help, but i got a free bag of desert sand when i got my bredli, so i put that in. Is it ok to feed him in the enclosure as long as it is on the rock and i watch him.
Cheers

Don't let his food get on the sand and he'll be fine. If you don't like BC your better off use paper or fake grass, sand isn't the best.
I've been using BC for around 4yrs on all my snakes and have never had a problem.
I 've seen some of my snakes eat it including juvi pythons and nothing happened, they pass it through normally. This doesn't happen very often. It's only recycled paper.
It does swell up but snakes diegestive juices break down teeth and bone in a few days, paper pellets don't stand a chance.
IMO you can't beat BC

Sand looks good but take him out when you feed him just to make sure.
That way you get to handle him a bit more too.If you feed a youngun in the enclosure they can associate your presence with food when you put your hand in. Best to feed them outside the cage and develop a regime.

Ahhh...I almost had some Bredlis....

From what Ive heard African its about as useful as a pocket in a singlet.Prolly better than common garden variety sand but still sand none the less.
cheers M........

hey brodie,
i use a substrate called dessert blend lizard litter. it is basically just crushed wallnuts and causes no impaction if swallowed. i think this is a good way to go and it comes in bags worth $23 which is a good price for the amount u get.

hope this helps
cheers

Hi guys thanx again for all the info, but where do i feed him if I can't feed in the cage??
Thanx again
Cheers

Sheet of newspaper on the floor, hold him, tub. Anywhere out of the cage.
