Im not sure if my heat lamps are working properly, but they haven't turned off like i've seen most do when they get to the desired temperature (Newby btw).
Are they meant to turn off? Or is this something I don't have?

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks.

what kind of repitle do you have? the lamp could be getting upto 27c to quickly, boost it upto about 32 C

Diamond Python.. Do you recommend trying to change the thermostat to 32 C and the lights will turn off and then turn it back down again to 27 C?

yeah you should bost your temps up anyway, diamonds like to be around 29-31

what kind of heat source is in the enclosure?

buy ceramic heat globes, them red globes are useless, they work awsome:) thats what i run with all my diamonds and theyre temps are about 29-31 dure in the day/arvo and drop to about 24 in the night.

The thermostat only goes up to 30 C

How do you get your temps to drop at night and rise in the morning?

hmm, not to sure then, 30 should be fine.

just cause the themorstat usually cuts out in the arvo and drops to about 21, but slowly jumps up through the night, its never over 26 in the morning when i get up and check

Firstly i would suggest getting some higher wattage globes so they will heat up the enclosure a lot quicker. For my Diamonds i have a timer set on for the day that turns on both the heat and the uv light. At night they do not have any temperature on. Go to the supermarket and buy a timer and run both lights off it. You will save a lot of money in power and most importantly it will benefit your snake.
