Hi there, so I'm new to using heat mats as I've always lived somewhere were a ceramic heat bulb was enough heating, but now I live were it's colder so I wanted to give me bluey a little extra heat from underneath to keep him properly warm.
I picked up a URS ultimate heat mat (size med) and a thermometer, but I'm not entirely sure if I should be putting the heat mat in there all by itself.
So my questions are:
Can my blue tongue be in direct contact with the heat mat? Or does there need to be a tile or acrylic sheet on top?
Does this specific mat need air flow?
Should I be worried about putting a heat mat in contact with the wood in the enclosure? as I have a wooden vivarium
Thanks
