Hi,
Just wondering if anyone would know what kind of heat emitter to get so I can heat my bredli's tank, and also how many watts. Its a 1.0m x 1.5m wooden enclosure.
Thanks...

seeing as you are on the gold coast try a 65watt ceramic heat emitter hooked up to a thermostat, that will be a good start, they can be bought off the internet auction site much much cheaper than pet shops

You would a find a 15W heat cord under a 30 cm square slate or ceramic tile a much cheaper but effective option. Placed at the end furthest away from the vents would be the most effective position. There are numerous threads on how to set it up. Just put "heat cord slate tile" into the search engine and it will pull them all out plus a few spurious ones.

If your python like to camp in the branches at the top of the cage then You can set up a radiant panel using heat cord (again, details available via search engine) or use a low wattage heat emitter or infra-red bulb to complement the warm air rising up from the slate tile.

The wattage of your heating system is what you will be paying for. So a combined wattage of say 30W is going to half the cost to run of a 60W emitter. The tiles are extremely effective as heat is transferred directly to the animal. Place a hide on the tile and it mimics the manner in which they warm up in nature using warm rocks, which at the same time provide a refuge.
