hey guys i dont know if there is a thread already on aps, but i was just wanting to know if anyone uses reptapets sunglow bulbs for heating.
Reptapets Australia - Sun Glow

was wondering if anybody knows what the actual uva/uvb rating is and the output?
and if anybody does use them or has used them, do you find them good or not?
was wondering coz i use there infared ones atm in conjunction with a regular uvb bulb?
Reptapets Australia - Infrared
Reptapets Australia - ReptaSunPlus
i wanted to know coz im building a new enclosure and kinda dont want the red light in it. rather have something a little more natural looking?

Thanks

i dont know about the UV output , but i have used all that u have named above in the past . i dont use any "reptile " ones anymore , i just run the phillips flood light globes . as they last a heap longer and they are a 1/4 of the price .

yeah i was a little unsure. so as for the uv side of things. which brand would you recommend. im keeping beardies btw so i knida have to have them...

I have a 100w OzBright Heat & Light bulb. It's a mercury vapor bulb and my bearded dragons love it.
It's the first time I've used a MVB, and given the size of my enclosure, it was a bit tricky getting the temperature gradient right (I had to use a computer fan to increase airflow), but I've definitely noticed an improvement in their behaviour and colouration. They seem to spend most of the day happily basking at around 38-39 degrees Celsius. It also lights up the enclosure quite well.

well u dont need the " reptile" ones , as i said basic flood light globes work great . i have beardies too and they do fine with them , even the hatchlings did fine with the above lights.

cool.
thanks jas.
and syner do you run your mvb with a thermostat?
coz i read that your not supposed to...
someone correct me if im wrong...

Yea, you can't run an MVB with a thermostat. It took a bit of messing around until I got a temperature range I'm happy with..

yeah didnt think so. problem with that is ive got a probe thermo which is annoying cos it cost so much. and i really wanna use it...
