Could anyone please give me some advice. My jungle python layed her eggs on Sunday night. When I got home last night, she only had her tail over them and hasn't wrapped around them as the books say. Is this ok or abnormal behaviour. This is my first time breeding and I'm terrified to lose them.

You need to supply more details. What are the cage temps? Are the eggs fertile?

Either way if she has abandoned them then you need to set up an incubator ASAP.

The cage temp is between 27 and 30 degree's. No visable slugs, the eggs are very white and smooth. Perfectly formed so they are likely to be fertile.
She has deliberately wet her paper to create humidity and is laying underneath the paper with the eggs beside her and the tail over them.

Generally when the female incubates her eggs, she will leave them to get a drink, and maybe a feed if being offered. How long has she been completely off the eggs,if she doenst coil around them soon then maybe take Codereds advise and get a incubator setup before its to late...MARK

Thanks for al the advice guys. She has been off them since yesterday morning when she finished laying them. Not sure if I did the right thing but I have put her on top of them this morning in the hope she stays put. I won't know until later this afternoon when I can get home if she has moved off them again.
I don't have an incubator but I sure have learnt a lesson here. It's probably too late to buy one online.

just make one out of a foam esky and a heat cord. won't cost you much and if she does leave them you can chuck them straight in there. better to be safe. when i found my eggs which i wasn't expecting i made one out of a foam esky and heat cord just in case. i haven't had to use it but its still sitting here in case. its never too late until you know you have lost the eggs keep trying. don't give up. i paid $30 for a heat cord and got a foam esky free from aquarium shop. $10 for vermiculite and grab a container. incubator done.

That sounds like a great idea. How would I control the temp though?? I am hoping to borrow someones incubator for the interim but if not successful with that, I will attempt to make one as suggested.
I'm going home at lunch time to see if she has moved off them so I have fingers crossed tightly.

get a thermostat from the pet shop wile your there too and a probe thermometer/hydro this is the exspensive part but they will keep temp where it should be.

Great news.....I have found someone with a very large incubator. My babies are now safely tucked away. I will be arranging to make or purchase an incubator so I won't get caught out again.
I want to extended a huge thank you to all of you who gave me some guidance and support.
The guy who helped out has seen the eggs and thinks they are going to be ok as they still looked healthy.
