HELP HELP - Capey Lost then Found

Hi folks,

I lost my cape york carpet, only three months old, three weeks ago and havent been able to find her untill today. Found her today and she was balled up behind a bookshelf.

Im worried she hasnt eaten in four weeks and didnt get any water for three. It was very cold where she was. So im not sure if shes gone into hibernation????

So i put her into the enclosure, i need to know forom you experienced herpers out there what to do?? When do i feed her?? Will she want to eat?? What temp??

I put her in and she hasnt moved a muscle really....

HELP!!

MMMMMMMMMMMMM.....................poke it with a stick ............lol(sorry couldnt resist) dont PANIC it will be ok once its temps are up, you will find it moving again and then you can start to feed..........

Nope, i had a cage but i found that the perspex sliding doors had a slight gap that could be bent if she pushed hard enough. So i have just sealed the hell outta the cage. Dont think she will be escaping anytime soon!

So just keep her warm? When can i feed her?

keep her warm, give her plent of hides, leave her alone for a few daze, she'll be fine. make sure she has a water bowl. in a few days try feed her, if she wont eat, leave the food in the enclosure overnight. if you only have a heat light, get a heat mat too, that way she is more likely to venture out at night still being warm. if you dont see her drink you could mist her, my snakes hate being misted, so dont subject her to it until she is setteled in. resist the urge to handle her for at least a week. try not to loose her again!

Just made sure that there is no more gaps in the perspex at the edges etc... Dont worry she has ventilation!

Good newws, she has eated and is happy as ever in her old home. A bit more comfy than behind a bookshelf!!

Actually was wondering what did you use to seal the gaps?

I used marine/esky sealer tape. Usually from any marine store. Almost like a flexible sticky foam tape used to fill gaps etc..

Very useful, good insulator too!
