hi

the last few 2 days my male olive has been leaving green uric acid, i think thats what its called, but it usaully white, he also sounds like there is fluid or something in his lungs. he is housed outside and it has been starting to cool down, its also been raing a fair bit in the last couple of weeks. i have put a heat cord under his hide box and set the temp to 31-32 to warm him up, most people will say take him to a vet and i would like to but its not really an option. the vet here can stitch them up, but thats it.

Your vet can also supply antibiotics if that's what is necessary, can also do a lot more.

Honestly, i dont like people saiyng "TAKE IT TO THE VET" a lot of the time.

Although there are very good times where it's quite called for. If he has an RI, and it sounds like it's the case-- as said in the post above. If untreated, he might not make it.

Good idea, mate. You could also ring a specialist herp vet that's not in your area, and explain your situation. I'm sure they'd be able to give you some help over the phone.

if u cant take him to the vet can u at least move him inside so he has a chance to fight it off himself?

RI's arent something to disregard, i got a bearded dragon last year with pnemonia cos she hadnt been taken to the vet, i took her straight to the vet when i got her, have kept her warm 24/7, almost a year on now i still need to inject her with fortrum every 3 days or her breathing deteriorates, her lungs are ruined from someone elses neglect.

the vet said its likely she'll need fortrum for the rest of her life, probably month on, month off, and thats if im lucky.

seriously, do something asap, even if u weigh it and find someone to work out the dose for u and have it mailed out, the longer u leave it the less chance there is for a full recovery.
