My Spotted had a bad shed so I bathed her and removed almost all the shed . . bar some on her belly from her neck back about 5/10cm . . It's not wrapped around just on her underside . . Should I try and remove this? It's just she's getting very agitated so I would like to leave it if it's going to he ok . . thanks :)

This happenend to my spotted ( 6months old ) on it's first shed of winter. I managed to get him to get the shed off himself by locking him in his click clack with about 5mm of warm water (the temp should be what you consider warm when touched on your wrist, ensure it's not too hot) for about 10-15 min then let him out and he managed to get it off himself. After that I 3/4 filled his click clack with hot water and put it in his enclosure every 2-3 days to create a sauna type atmosphere. He got the next shed off no problem in 1 piece. I assume the dry weather in winter, particularly in Brisbane, makes it hard. I've continued with the theory, we'll see if it works again.

I read on another thread that you can use a damp towel put it in the enclosure, so he can go thru the towel and get it off himself?

a good thing to do is to mist your snake when you see them going inot shed. Just a light mist of water morning and night and the shed will come off in one piece. this avoids this problem of the shed being retained.

I probably wouldn't do this when it's not about to shed - humidity will get too high.

When you notice that it's coming up for a shed, a couple of mists of water each day should do the job though.
