Hi all, In case any one is wondering? I did not mean to imply that the Brissie Coastal that we got from Mark(Fuscus) was ill when we got him ok? The Respiritory prob was probably caused by who know's what.? It was a very healthy snake when we got him ok? Anyway I've had him(I've now decided to call him "Monty", for want of anything more original, I'm sorry!) to the vet, and he's now tasting the air with his tongue, and moving around heaps, eh? Hopefully, after the full course of Jabs(courtesy of Dave, I can't do it), he might start to eat. Pity Dave and I are living in an unlined shed, and things get way too cold here overnight at the moment. Monty has been on Baytril since Monday, and is starting to look great. We have enough Baytril for 10 days, as the vet gave us more than required. He's such a nice snake, very placid. Doesn't even freak out with the needle jab? We can still hear the whistling when breathing? So if there is something up his nose, after all the jabs I mean and still whistling, how do we check that please? PS, Mark said something a tad strange before he left here and heading for Griffith in NSW. He said he had a feeling that this Brissie Coastal was wild caught? Why would he say something like that? Any ideas please? Cheers Cheryl

He may not of trusted the person he got the animal from.?

Sometimes a snakes general demeanor indicates to people that a snake may be captive bred or wild caught.
IMO its subjective and if you used that analogy nearly all the snakes we are asked to remove would be considered captive bred especially those red bellies and Sydney diamonds.
