Hi Guys,
I am certain that a lot of you will one day purchase a new home. When doing this, you need to take cage design into consideration in choosing your house.
We were lucky enough to have our house designed by an architect many years ago. He did a wonderful job and all our living areas have a beautiful northerley aspect. If you go to buy or build a house all the experts will tell you to do that. Get a good northerly or north easterly aspect.
BUT..........
If you do that then you will not be able to locate any aviaries that will have a northerly aspect. I have two aviaries (pic of one attached) and had to position it with an almost southerley aspect. Not too bad for my diamond python that lived in it but now I want to house my lace monitor when he grows up a bit so I have to relocate it to a crappy position just to take advantage of 8 hours of sunlight.
SO......
When you go house hunting don't be too scared of those houses with southerley aspects. You will save a few thousand dollars in purchase price and you will have a beautiful view of your vary happy reptiles sunning themselves in their northerley aspect homes.
Cheers
