For m its not underestimating the "stretchiness" of a python its slowly introducing and upping the size of the rats to the snake. Obviously if the snake takes and eats it faster than the speed of light *lol* then yes definately up the size until the snakes takes a bit longer

if a hatchy can fit in a day old quail then a 2 year old (3 foot snake ) can fit in a med rat just my opinion
but yeah maybe start with a weaner and up the food from there just make sure the food size goes up as the snake fills out

i feed my year old bredli small adult rats, and next week im going to try her on a medium adult rat.
i reckon my bredli's head is the same size as yours compared to the coke can so give it a small adult rat and see how you go.
mine passes and is hungry again within about 2 days so she could probably do 2 small adult rats to be honest.

an adult mouse is around 30g. feeding a small feed will keep your snake alive, but not leave anything to use for growing. trust me a snake wont eat anything that is to big for them. try feeding it a small weaner rat about 40-45g next feed, then feed every 7 days. keep your enclosure at 30C in the centre. upsize the feeds about every 6 feeds.

hi should you upsize the food all the time every 6 feeds and how much bigger should you gowith the food thanks

food

imo he does not look under fed,he looks proportionally ok.i would up the food size.i would do it gradually, over a couple of months.i definatley would not go from the size of mouse you have him on straight to a small or medium rat.when i up a food size what i do is.instead of 1 of his normal food item,i give it 2 of what food size it has been on for 4 weeks.that way his stomach gets used to the extra food.also it gives him a chance to refuse the 2nd food item if it feels its too much food.at 2 year most of my carpets are on small to large weaners.there are a few exceptions like my coastal who will end up the biggest of my carpets.
cheers shaun
