Just wondering how often a snake at the age of about 5 should shed?

My Prosepine Python is about 8 foot long and when we bought him was about 4. Have had him a year and a half now and he has been shedding on a regular basis. He shed about 3 weeks ago and has got the milky eyes again.

Is this normal?

i think it's suppose to be every month, but it depends, if the snake is injured it will shed more to heal itself faster.

how often do you feed him? how much do you feed him? if hes stressed he may slough more.. but if he seems happy i wouldnt worry too much about it

A snake should not be shedding every month, especially one of that age. Most of my adults are between 4 - 6 months.

If he is shedding again he might possibly have mites, or a recent injury he is trying to heal up more?

We feed him about once every 3 weeks....he takes it every time and eats it all up.

A young growing snake should shed ever month-ish

Basically the more you feed a growing young snake the more it will grow and shed

But a snake that age it should shed around ever 3-6 months-ish

I wouldent be to worried about it ;)

would there be any other reason for milky eyes??

cant see how he would get mites and he couldnt possibly be injured so i have no idea.
