Well, I'm not sure he's pudgey. I know fat snakes have "hips", I've seen a few sad cases in rescue. But there isn't much info on spotted's feeding schedule on the net, I'm afraid I'm over feeding but I'm not sure. He's a bit heavier bodied than my other snakes, but comparing pythons to colubrids is like apples and oranges. I know colubrids, the python was sort of taken in as a pitty-favor and I don't know much about them.

anyone have a rough guide? He's eating one juivinle mouse ever 7 - 10 days right now.

I'm glad I did take him in though, i've totally fallen in love with this little guy.

i dont own a spottie but from pics ive seen yours doesnt look overweight or pudgey at all, just healthy. and id imagine one juve mouse every 7-10 days would be pretty close to what someone more knowledgeable would reccomend

Looks fine! I'm sure he's even a little leaner than a lot of peoples spotteds =P.

alright, thanks guys.

I was worried because he was so much *more* round and squishy than my corns (who I know I'm feeding right). I know pythons are heavier bodied, but I want to be sure, having an unhealthy snake worries me.

i was told its 10 or 15 % of the weight of the snake

my son has
C.Y.Blonde Mac.....is 10mnths 3ft ...& 250grams....
.currently eating 10%..25grm (xlrg fuzzie rats) every 5 days
he will be moving to 23-30grams shortly(sml weiner rats)

Definitely not over weight

Nice looking spotted
