You could write a large book on what chinese eat. Roasted elephant trunk, monkey brains from a live monkey not my cuppa tea.

It disgusts me the way some Chinese treat animals.

I truly hope they get to suffer some of the misery that they inflict onto poor helpless animals.

In some countries they believe that the more painfully the animal dies the more flavoursome it is. Puppies skinned alive and boiled alive for entrée anyone? Extremely sick and twisted.

As there is some evidence that some Chinese medicines are actually useful such as acupuncture and a little of their herbalism, however 90% + is absolute crap. Ie if a plant has a root that resembles testicles they think it is good for the nads or if phallic like snakes or sea cucumber etc etc it is good for male sexual function. So i would bet that the snake venom in chicken is just a gimic or has negligible effect.

as harsh as it sounds i completely agree. no one/no animal should have to endure something as horrible as the torture the chinese inflict upon those animals.:(

Oh well, they say snake venom is pure protein. Nothing like adding extra protein to a already high protein chook.

China seems to be very well known for their animal cruelty. Don't these ppl have a heart? I guess they don't or they wouldn't do these things which such disregard for the life of another being  . And to think Australia imports products from them. Even our Aussie flag is made in china. What got tortured to make that?

Yeah, it's pretty ordinary eh? A lot of traditional medicines too, seem to only have value if it comes from a rare or endangered animal. And why is it that half of the traditional remedies include being an aphrodisiac? Such & such is good for headache, back pain & it's an aphrodisiac. This & that cures baldness, eradicates tinea & is an aphrodisiac etc etc. One of the worst for my mind is the draining of bear bile from live animals. Incomprehensibly evil in this day & age.

PS: Renagade, that story was in Reptile News a couple of weeks ago, but I think a lot of uses skip that page, most stories don't get comments or anything so it's easy to miss a previously posted thread.
