Hey i have a spotted and diamond (just got him), and i was curious about hybernation. I have been told by a guy not to worry when it comes to hybernation but i want the best for my pythons! So can anyone help i would really appreciate it. Also when do you stop feeding, how long not to feed them for and when do you start back up?(around three months?) an overall would really help, even though i have read a lot about it i like to make sure i'm doing the right thing! Thanks everyone!

They brumate not hybernate, and uasally adults refuse to feed when they know its time.
but in saying that if you feed you heat and even when they brumate they still need heat
during the day. If you have a young animal i woulnd cool them until old enough to breed

If your snakes are younger than 2 years old it is probably best not to cool them. Let them have their heat and food so that they can build up some stores for the future. Snakes that are underweight, sick or very young should not be cooled as they may not make the winter out.

From about 2years upwards, whether breeding or not I still believe its in their best interest to let them brumate for winter. As an easy guide to follow, from Mid-March I stop feeding my snakes but leave their heat on, just to make sure they have digested all their last meals before the cold kicks in. Then end March/beginning April I start cutting down their heat. all my snakes have no heat overnight anyway but by May they now only get their heat for 4 hours in the morning and turn it off for remainder of day until it turns back on, next morning.

Round September I will start to increase their heat until they are back up to summer temps by end September/mid-October.
