I have noticed static with perpex.
Scratches quite easy aswell,but none the less looks good,easy to clean and reasonably priced.
Not to sure if it keeps the heat any better than glass or not though.

Inny If you double glaze make sure you put some silica gel between the panes.
It stops moisture forming.
