Bit of a random question gut it got me thinking. Bought a nice high security lock the other day and as I was fitting it it got me thinking. If humans were innately honest what impact would this have on the economy?. For a start we would not need to manufacture any security related products and the majority of our courts would be made redundant. What other consequences of a totally honest society can you think of?.

Kindest regards

There would be no such thing as a politician, Hooraaaaaaaaaaaay!

I think it would endeavour....if it was all honesty I think microsoft would stop saying they are just as good if not better than apple  Oh, and 1direction would reveal they use a computer to make their music and all the rumours are true hahahahahahahaha  ;)

I wouldn't have a snake.

well I did have to tell the occasional white lie about its full size and other thins...

If everyone said exactly what they thought it would be a bloodbath. Without "diplomacy" there would be total chaos.

+1 sharkyy. That's pretty sad that they need a computer and it still sounds bad.

The saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away is a lie. Then again, steve jobs may have had a few too many apples a day.

Are you enquiring as to total honesty from a certain point, or full disclosure? IMO there is a reason why mainstream society is kept in the dark about a lot of things. It would be nice to not have to lock everything all the time and not have to make our homes and cars etc all criminal proof, but I think there may be certain truths that people wouldn't be able to handle.... In the mean time we need to keep jbest in a job :)

It used to be called country living. Where we used to leave the doors and windows open at night to enjoy the breeze while we slept, or kept the house cool while we were out. It's how I grew up in Maryborough Queensland when staying with my late grandmother. Those were the days ;) Then the crims found out those places were easy targets and worth driving to. Such a shame!

Good luck maintaining a relationship with "innate" honesty.
Yes baby your butt is big in that.

Used car salesman wouldn't exist! New cars for everybody!

My parents still leave their car sitting in the driveway with keys in ignition, that way you know where they are.

And most country people do! When I visit folks out in the sticks I'm always taking the keys out of the ignition due to habit, and they look around and say "why??".

To be honest there are still plenty of honest people about. I'm always a bit of a sucker in giving people the benefit of the doubt. And I've never been too disappointed with that approach.

I like this thread. Reminds me of days past :D
