I'm a newbie :) :) :)

Hi guys and gals, i am a newbie to your forum and unfortunately having been an admin, super mod and mod on a lot of different forums (not animal) i made the newbie mistake of just wading into the deep end with my posts on "parthenogenesis" and "force feeding hatchlings" without first intrducing myself, i know from experience this can cause some concerns to long time members so for that i apologize.
So here it is.....My name is Ron and i live in Port Macquarie NSW and i am 54, i have had a long time fascination with reptiles particularly pythons for their emense diversity of types size and colors, i promised myself 1 day when i gave up the highway and could devote the required time to looking after a reptile i would become the proud owner of one, well that happened 5 years ago and after an exhaustive amount of searching and reading i finally decided on the coastal carpet python i lovingly named cinaman(because of her color) well it was more like she picked me as of all her hatch mates she was the only 1 not to have a go at me, rather she entwined her little coils around my fingers and stayed there contented so i figured she was the 1, in hindsight it was a very good decision as she has become more a part of the family than a pet and because of her beautiful nature has cured quite a few people of their fear of snakes, she is a gr8 lil "joe blake" and it would take an awful lot for me to ever let her go, i think over the next few years you will all see new pics of her as i update my album (lol see what i mean, i even had an album before i intro'ed myself) at the moment she is around 2m and as thick as my rather large wrist at her thickest before any food bump.
In the future i will probably ask quite a few questions of you guys and gals coz after reading your forum exhaustively i feel there are some very knowledgeable people here and i will get the best possible advice, and that is what my Cinaman deserves.

So there it is, my intro better late than never
Ron out

Thanks for the proper intro Ron. Contrary to popular belief we are a good group and we do not hate or try to discourage newbies. You have probably seen some of the threads from... Well I won't say his name, but he burnt his bridge around here.

Hmmmm yes i have seen his posts, it is the main reason i did this intro, i did not want to be lumped into the same category as him, nor did i want to come off as some sort of know it all as i am a know it less but with the help and guidance from the good people here i might gain the knowedge needed for the continued care of "MY GIRL" and any others i may purchase in the future.

With that attitude you will do fine here. I have been keeping/breeding reptiles for almost 16 years now and I am still learning something new every day.(everyday I read as much as possible) Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question. We all knew as much as you do at one point or another.
