 Hi everyone, I seem to be getting lots of.... likes .... notifications, thank you very much all of you.

I just say what I think about things, nothing spectacular or anything.

Cheers, Annie :D:D

Well, I really don't know ..... I just seem to be getting a lot of them....and that's very nice....but I'm not sure they're warranted....I'm just making ordinary comments like everyone else. :)

You deserve them :D
You always seem to have a level-headed, polite comment ready grannieannie.

^ I agree with nighthawk :) I quite enjoy reading what you have to say to be honest...

Annie l like your unblinkered way of looking at things ....... having had a near death experience and realising as we get older I too have a much simpler outlook on life now and am grateful for the now and what I have rather than what i don't have today as I said in another threat .... you rock girl :D

LOL...you're all most kind indeed. :) My wonderful husband...you know the bloke I said was 76 LOL....he's taught me a lot about tolerance and patience, seeing the traumas others go through....and my own experiences with family and illness and life in general has hopefully taught me to try and see life simply. Life can change in an instant no matter how old you are, and I remember my mother saying when she was in her 80s, that you never stop learning. I believe in being straight forward and honest and agreeing to disagree with people who hold different opinions from me. When I was growing up I was a very angry, impatient person, very selfish and probably not very nice to know at all. Thankfully those days are gone.... I hope !! :)

You're a pearler Annie. Life can be nasty but it's all we've got.

My dad's fighting the hard fight right now but I can get him to laugh and that for me is proof of life!

I've always found your comments to be level and reasonable.... I imagine you'd be great to chat with over a cuppa (or other). Pity I'm not in WA or I'd arrange a meet - though I did travel through Mandurah back in '88.

LOL...I'd be happy to meet any of you at any time...LOL...but trust me....I'm about as normal and suburban as you can get...LOL...but thanks anyway. Actually on Tuesday a group of ladies I know from a cancer support group are going to lunch in Perth city and meeting face to face for the first time.....there's about 10 of us so far...it should be great fun.

I love how you're saying lol, even at 60...

Because I'm 12, and I'm not even saying lol.

Sometimes its the ordinary comments that are easier to understand.

I am sick of my 15 yr old "talking" computer abbreviations. She will say LOL instead of just laughing. I've heard a few talk like this. I find it annoying, but that's just me. God bless you teenagers.

I don't know how to text and bearly know how to use my mobile, just use it in emergencies...like we just have the one between us, and if one of us goes out, then we'll take it and ring the one at home to say when we're on our way home, so the other doesn't worry. I have no idea what an iphone or ipad is... I think an MP3 player is to do with music...I'm quite technologically retared...but that's fine with me. I don't have a DVD player, but I think they work in my computer, I've never tried it. I know what... ROFLAO and LOL and OMG and Gr8 and IMO and I think that's about all. The thing is, when I was at school we learned grammar and how to spell and that's what I prefer to do. I also learned to touch type when I was 13 and still do a pretty good job of typing today. I guess in todays world I'm quite old fashioned, yet in my youth I was considered very modern and in my family, quite the rebel....how things have changed. But I wouldn't change me for anything. :)

Annie, after just very recently exchanging pm's with you, i can understand why you get these 'likes'.......you are a very lovely woman, honest, caring & generous are traits hard to come by these days, & when you find it in people such as yourself, its a great pleasure. :D

Newtolovingsnake.........my daughter done that to my son the other night........he told her something & she replied with 'LOL' :? Ive since told her that when she is speaking with people face to face she will not use these abbreviations, or i will ban her from the computer etc! I couldnt believe it, yeah we do so on the computer or via text etc, but face to face??? wt?

Well people, there are much worse things people can say.... the F .... word or the .... C ....word are the two worst I know of...mind you I've used the F one on the odd occasion myself when I've been really pissed off at home. I remember once a father of a teenager saying how annoyed he was with his 19 yr old son for always having his room in a mess. I told him if that's the worst thing he ever has to complain about with his son....he ain't got nothin to worry about !! :)

Bel....you are most kind...thank you...

Very true Annie.......however i still wouldnt want my daughter rocking up for a job interview (when the time comes) & coming out with a 'LOL' when the boss 'cracks a joke' :p She is though, a fantastic child, i dont have many issues with her at all.......except the fact that she is growing up WAY too fast for my liking! My son.....he has his moments, but still a great kid for the most part!

Annie, i speak the truth. You have been really helpful, sharing your experience has made things alot easier for me to 'understand' what i 2 could be about to go through. So THANK U! :D

You're most welcome Bel....just PM me and I think you have my normal email address...I'm always ready for a chat. :)

Of course when my kids were young, now aged 37 & 38 computers weren't around so they didn't talk as kids do today. But not so many years ago I heard a young person say.....something was....sick !! I thought, oh my, how awful...but apparently in teen language, sick meant.... good !!! That's about the weirdest thing I've ever heard of. :) I'm not game to write.... LOL .... anymore. :)
