Is this book good? Australian Reptiles and Frogs

ok well i have this reptile book called: Australian REPTILES & FROGS. is it a good book? It's by Raymond T. Hoser. seems like an ok book. Dose anybody else own it?

I (personally) would buy nothing at all from that author.

we didn't buy it. my parents got it for free from a friend of theirs who was the publisher or somethin.

Yes, i think its a good book, and worth having regardless of who the author is.

If the information in the book is informative and accurate, and you feel it will be helpfull. Does it really matter who wrote it or what they have previously done. MOO

Ive got the book and it is good,there is a few mistakes as in most,Ray Hoser is into plent y of things and when he put out the two smuggled books put allot of people offside.Surprising how much of it is actually correct when you get around and find things out yourself about many included.Yeh some parts ile never know but some people he really gets them down accurately. 8)

I think it is more to do with his production of Venomoids than his authoring of the smuggled books!

Why is it raymonds production of venomids a reason africa,mate you were not at meetings to see the reactions of some people mentioned in smuggled.Yeh he loved some people in NSW ha ha like cane toads,ide like to know more about this venomid thing afro,sounds interesting.

rays methods are not for everyone, but what he writes in his books is
as informative and interesting as a lot of other books,and a lot more in a lot of cases,dump on him as much as you like re; venomoids ..im on the fence there
but ive read most everything he has on smuggled.com,,and i have learnt a lot just from this site

He does have some could articles on his site sssnakeman and i some of his books,i know he breeds adders and other elapids just cant see what the fuss is cause i dont get answers.

I have had this book for years and have always found it to be very informative and it also has some good pics.

I have it in my book collection - bought it with Wilson & Knowles' "Australia's Reptiles: A Photographic Reference to the Terrestrial Reptiles of Australia". Both have some great pictures in it.
However, I vaery rarely ever refer to th Hoser book.
