Hi all,
I am getting a jungle python tomorrow (hatchling) and I want some advice on the temperature for it. I have a heat mat, thermostat, and infra-red thermometer, and the snake will be in a 7L Tupperware container. The problem I'm having is my thermostat is constantly set to 32° with a 1° divergence. When the thermostat gets upto 33.2°, my infra-red gun measures the surface temp upto 32.5°. When the thermostat gets to 31°, the infra-red gun reads surface temp at 29.1°. Does it matter if it fluctuates between the two if it happens every 5-10 minutes or so? Or am I better setting it to 33°, but then again if it gets near 34°-35°, is that too hot for it?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks !
