I have an enclosure in the garage, and it reaches about 30-33˚C in there during the day, without the heat on. So the question is should i put a fan in the room to cool it down so that the cool side is a lower temperature and the heat lamp will run?

P.S i dont have any reptiles in there.

fans cool people, not air. unfortunately an air conditioner is what you need to drop the temp.

From what i have read if the heat lamp isnt turning on then the hot end is warm enough without the light. The cool end temps can be brought down through wrapping a frozen water bottle in a towel and placing it in the enclosure. I had to do this the other day and it worked very well.

Fans kill thermal gradients but don't lower the overall temp. If it is already 33 degree's in there now chances are it will be far to hot once summer really hits.

He doesnt currently have any reptiles in the shed.

but i agree with Jungle python, it will be worse in summer

Another way around summer heat in hot places is to use a timer and turn your heat off at say 10.00 am and back on at 6 or 7 pm if need be for night. solar 17

Yeah i have a timer and i live in Queensland so it will be about the same temperature for the whole summer. Thanks for the replies.
