Hi
I am thinking of getting a croc so i am wanting a bit of info on keeping them and all the general stuff like temps, how often do they get feed?. All so whould i have to do a course on them like you do with elapids? I now that I will need a Advanced licence to keep them. Pictures of cages and crocs would be good.

Thanks!

Hey mate do you plan on keeping it when it gets over a mtr long most people seem to think they would be great to keep but very few people can house the correctly

I have been keeping freshies for 10 years...I have not found them too hard to keep, however they are very strong, easily stressed and expensive to house correctly.

I would seriously consider why you want to keep them and take it from there, husbandry notes have been published in a couple of journals and books

Cheers,
Scott

Even 1 m croc requites huge enclosure with large pond. A fishtank will not do. As Scott said, it can get very expensive especially when it comes to heating. One metre croc is still a juvenile. They grow much bigger (even freshies) than that.

Hoppy,

I have permit that allows me to keep crocodiles among other things

Cheers,
Scott

Yeh mate well if you think you can house it correctly then go for it I would love to own one myself but I no they require far more room than I can provide

I am soon building a 3x3m insulated shed with the bottom 1/3rd of a rainwater tank in there for my freshie.
The sooner I get it out there, the bigger its going to get I think.
