I moved in here and within a week the pit bull (no offence to those dogs but the owner was a twat), over the back had neatly ripped my dogs face off and put me thru vet bills that almost brought back my childhood days of ******* my pants.. So I told the owner he was paying for it (his dog was in my yard also), and he mouths off at me so I told him wife to keep their toddler away from the dog as if he gets the taste maybe? I don't know but within a week the dog turned the toddler into a pin cushion (after said father told me I was a nosey beep and to mind my own business as his dog was a kitten round the kid), so ambos, council, papers etc, and the wife is now minus two pits and a hubby, is nursing her toddler, owns a fluffy something or rather, and is shacked up quite happily with ex hubbys best mate.. she thanks me daily that her life is so much better now, but i keep telling her 'hey stupid your kid still got mauled' and she quickly scuttles back in the house.. i dont mind pit bulls but its most often human interference that buggers the poor pooch

Now a dog that shows extreme aggression should not be kept, my mum made the decision to put one of our pitbulls down after one of the local “thugs” decided to take him from the backyard and fight there American bulldog x pitbull. He was a changed dog after that, constantly fighting our other, slamming up against the door to get to our maltese terrier inside and i was only about 10 and my sister 5. I hardly remember but my brothers and mother were extremely distraught but it was the best option for a dog with that aggression, i would never trust any dog with a child by itself and i also wouldn’t allow my dogs to get out (6ft fences with a double locked gate) but again, humans always seem to be the one behind it. There should be some form of lessons taught in school from a very early age because all these incidents are getting ridiculous

my kids (11 and 5) love kissing our dog on the face. The more you say no the more they do it. Recently my 5 years has decided that she needs to kiss all dogs she sees....
i just showed both the kids this clip and my 5 year old watched.. looked at me and said "mymmy, i don't want Max to bite me". She when went outside, sat down next to Max and said "i'm very sorry Max, but l can't kiss you anymore.. cause you might get annoyed and bite me...", she then looked at him, smiled and said "is it ok of l just blow you kissed Max?"

Maybe the clip might just be enough to stop her. (Max is a little Jack russell)

My dogs are the biggest softies, but look mean... I have the opposite problem (not really a problem in my book), people cross the road when they see us coming... and now we have neighbours that have decided that they are "dangerous" (not that they have been anywhere near my dogs) because their kids play up along the fence and my dogs do what they should and bark at anyone in their area.... They have lived there for 2 weeks and have decided my dogs are pitbulls- couldnt be further removed as they are aussie bulldogs!!!

I have the same "Aussie bulldog" and get the pitbull sh#t all the time untill they see him

dogs are dogs, they dont like people in their face. i dont blame the dog at all

I always ALWAYS ask if I can pat the dog from the owner first. I offer my fist first for the dog to sniff first before patting and I never stare into their eyes. I knew dog's who were great judges of character, a great dane, one blue eye one brown. Could stare at his eyes forever, lick you first and attack the brat that came into the store after you! Knew an Irish wolfhound that hated men, always had to be muzzled in public but when in the groomers would lick me to death cause he loved me! Beautiful dog, always tried to knock me over by standing up on my shoulders. It's not the dog's fault, it's the humans and the humans who raised them/ mistreated them.
We need to educate the public to not approach a dog... not even the next door neighbours!
And as for the neighbours feeding your dogs OMG I would have screamed murder! Unless your looking after the dogs (which i'm sure instructions would have been left for you) you don't feed another persons animals!
I feel guilty for stopping to pat someones horse in the paddock!

That snapping that dog did is sort of like what my two staffords do to each other when they get excited....I reckon thatpoor dog was overstimulated and was sort of snapping like they do and maybe because it was a rescue hasnt had the strict upbringing to remember that peoples faces are not dog faces and you cant grab them......mine when they were little would try to nip me and I would tell them off for it so now the two of them just do it to each other.....having said that I am very careful about putting my face near them.

I really identify with the aggressive dog syndrome we had an american staffy we had to have put down for agression....we tried everything and I mean everything...and I couldnt stop her....and then one day she burst out the front door and jumped our front fence and grabbed this old ladies dog....fortunately the dog was alright and the old lady was ok even though she was knocked over in the scuffle.....but all i could think was what if when she gets in a frenzy she makes a mistake and grabs a child...and there was something about te way she behaved that we knew that next time would be worse as she was getting more and more aggressive........so hubby and i took her to the vet and cried buckets but we knew it was the right decision. The trouble is if she was a little yapyap dog we could have coped with her....but a stafford does so much damage.....

You think people would know NOT to get in a dogs face, especially with a breed that's restricted in so many countries. Silly woman. I have a quiet Chihuahua (she was abused and abandoned so I got sucked in to keeping her) and the first thing I've taught my toddler sister is to NOT grab her tail and to NOT get in her face.

And so the dog has been taken off the owner and will probably be put down? Not fair.
