Spot on Mr K. Just because Kostya lost, doesn't mean he isn't a better fighter. Football teams loose every week when they are clearly a better side e.g. Collingwood beating WCE a couple of weeks back. That is sport. If you are not on top of you game on the day, you will be beaten regardless of how good you are

true again boa but he hsnt fought anywhere near the caliber of fighters that tzu has. as for bad losers pfffft mate - more like dissappointed fans of the best champion to grace the ring for decades. hatton will probably lose his next fight - being a pom his heart muscle will die pretty quick :twisted:

Dear dear dear. When you are disappointed and you are true sports fans you should first congratulate the winner and then feel disappointed for the loser whichever side he competes for, that is what sportmanship is all about.
I didn't watch the fight, I'm not really a fight fan but 'saw' it described blow for blow on the net, Hatton was ahead for much of the fight and deserved to win.
'but he hasnt fought anywhere near the caliber of fighters that tzu has' maybe true but he has fought Tszyu and beaten him so why bother with the lesser guys He was a great champion but now we have another one.

Yes HE appears to be a very good sport but I wasn't referring to his attitude to the result.
The way I look at it is that you don't become a different nationality, you are what you are. I became a citizen many years ago and consider myself as Australian as I am English but I can't become 'true blue' by having a bit of paper.
Anyway I am only having a stir but good to see a few of you get worked up over these things

I should also add that if he was a proper Aussie we should call him Kossie or Kosso shouldn't we ?

I dis-agree there as I was born in malaysia and I consider myself only australian.. mind you tho Ive lived abt 25 of my 31 years here

Well he is now

He has been a great champion and I guess I can't understand why people try to take away from the other bloke when he beats a great champion, anyway it's all in good fun, from my side at least ;-)

All the english i know never will say they are Australian, even if they have been here most of their lives. It's like it's an insult or something to them :lol:

Kostya was on top of him till (round9) Hatton ripped him one in the cods...that was the end of the fight right there. I watched the whole thing, fantastic fight by both men up until the ball rattler.
Still Congrats to Hatton. (and sympathy to Kostya's purple nuggets tmorrow morning)

Mmm, from what I understand Hatton recieved a low hit 2 rounds before that and the report said he was ahead for most of the later part of the fight. Anyway I'm not even a fight fan but it was good to stir you up a bit

I don't suppose it really matters, it's just 2 grown men getting paid far too much to knock each other senseless, one was once champion and now isn't and the other wasn't but now is.
