hey everyone just wondering who has this torch and wat are there thoughts as my one turned up today and i am very happy with i got it use for herping since my old torch gave out last weekend
and for such a small little torch it is bloody powerful
cheers tim

I do alot of night forest work and use a P14. Great torch and very well made but in my honest opinion they are overpriced considering they are not even a regulated torch. The design of the focusing part is just magic though :)

I will definitely be looking around next time as i believe there are a lot of better torches to be had for a cheaper purchase price.

I have the P7, love it! I don't think there is a better torch. Unless you get a bigger one in the led lenser range.

I just bought a Led Lenser H14 210 Lumens Head Torch Lamp, its an awesome light.I bought mine on fleabay.

We use and sell the H7 and H14 headlamps, we love them and highly recommend them. If you are interested the H7 we sell for $80 and the H14 for $120, plus postage. Check out our web page Snake Handler Official Website - Home in the equipment section. I can also get any LED Lenser product and Leatherman product at fantastic prices!

If you want brightness, try the X21......now thats a light!

It's good we get the H7 headlamps issued to us at work. One for home, one for work lol.
They aren't as bright as the P7 but are bloody handy for overhead work or working on cars.

I always use head-torches, I much prefer them to a regular torch they are brilliant for eye-shine and you can keep your hands for use. Personally I prefer the Black Diamond Icon, head-torch which is slightly lighter and less bulky than the Led Lenser H14 or H7 but a bit less powerful as well. It can depend as too powerful can be useless for small reptiles or frogs over close range but not powerful enough and you cannot get any eye-shine over distance.

just orderd a p7 :) , are the h7 head lamps a more spread out light ? If i use the hand held p7 for spoting would the h7 headlamp be a good light to see where im walking ?

cheers nico

The beam is adjustable from spread to narrow, the power is variable so that you don't throw too much light to dazzle animals!

There are 30 odd lumens difference between the P7 and H7, I would just go with the H7 and use that for spotlighting. It's beam being fully changeable between narrow and wide also makes it versatile and even when spotting able to be used to see where you are going. Better yet the H14 is even more powerful the the P7 and being a headtorch is far superior for picking up eye-shine.

I have both the P7 and H7, i always find myself going for the torch instead of the headlamp when i have to choose. The only times i really use the headlamp is when i'm doing something that i need both hands and for a long time, like butchering animals at night etc.

I also find wearing az headlamp more than just a little annoying, especially when it's a humid night and you're sweating. But then that is just me, highly reccomend the H7 id you are going to get a headlamp though.

Has anyone purchased a P7 from EBay? Was having a look and they are around the $40 mark. The cheapest I could find in shops around Canberra was $99. Are the ones from EBay just cheap imitations ? I thought it was strange for such a price difference.

The eBay ones are genuine. I got mine on eBay. It's cheaper because it's online.

I've got an ebay ripoff, its not a bad little torch, obviously a cheap knock off tho, still bright, 250 lumen. Also have a Led Lenser P7. Fantastic little unit. The best torch I have though is a WOLFEYES Sea Lion. 750 lumen, where the P7 is only 200. Wolfeyes is rechargable, has a LOOOOOOOOONG runtime between charges, has interchangable globes, spot or flood. Lights up to about 300 metres with the spot globe in. Not cheap but less than half the price of the Led Lenser X21 and has comparable light output.

If you've got $200 to throw away on a torch I'd say get the wolfeyes. Before I bought it I thought I'd punch myself before spending that kind of money on a torch but then I saw one in action while out shooting one night.

i just got a H14 headlight the other day for $105 from Anaconda, not bad about as bright as you will get for a headlight.

i would like a powerful torch also but undecided ,i would like to go a hell of alot brighter than the 210 lumens headlight though

How can you tell a cheap rip off from a genuine one ? I'm still not convinced P7s from EBay for $40 would be genuine Led Lensers .

I use a 4sevens brand, 2 AA LED Light (a "Quark AA2 Tactical" model). I mainly use it around the house and for camping etc. Goes up to around 200 lumens. It works well for me as a general purpose torch. Around 60 USD I believe.

At work we have 2 choices, Fenix brand or LED Lenser. Everyone uses the Fenix hand torches and the H7 headlamps they are both pretty good. I have a P14 at home i use for spotting. I want one of those x21 ones, need to cinvince work I need it somehow for work related stuff though haha.

I have the P7 and I love it... So much fun to be had with a high powered torch... I may have replicated the batman light for fun a few times....
