sounds like there probably isnt anywhere that she deems suitable to lay.... what do you have in there for her to lay?

she has a big glass tank with 5" of sand at the deep end for her to dig and 4 hides.
she normaly digs everywhere but in the past week she has stopped and now looks like she is on her way to being egg bound

how far along is she? did u witness the mating?

also how moist is the sand she has to lay in?

i didnt see them mating but i have noticed the eggs in her belly for about 2 weeks. the sand is moist but not to moist

Try putting a tub in there with moist vermiculite, fairly deep at least 10 cms.

Has worked with most of my knob tails.

Tub should be dark too, like a 2 lt ice cream container, with the lid on and a hole cut out the side for her to enter.

i just went to feed her and she was eating fine but i did notice she has lost all her colour like she is about to shed?

she might be having her pre-lay shed.. thats if she is gravid..

i have just come home today and she has all her colour back but didn't shed? im very confused i think she might be egg bound what do i do?

I have heard that they sometimes eat their pre-lay shed...

It sound pretty normal. They are a bit fussy about the lay spot the first time around. Subsequent clutches should be easier.
