little black flying bugs?

hey all , recently like a week or so again it has been rather humid up here in qld after all the rain and such, i have a question i have noticed within a week or so that this little black bugs which fly, have been in the outdoor pit with the eastern blue tongues and cunninghams, i dont know what they are but their small like i guess pin heaqd size or so and they are very easy to see, now my question is what could they been my first thought was mites as their dark brown and pinhead size but as far as i know and i have asked others mites dont fly correct me if im wrong please? my other thoughts are gnats or midgies i only notice them on the blue tongues not the cunninghams , and i dont know if their to worry about much or what ? again someone correct me if im wrong, but i want to know if anyone has had this problem or if anyone can be certain of what they are and i cant get a pictures because well their to small haha. thanks for reading :)
