RE: Re: RE: Locust!!We

Man the only animal that scares /freaks me out is BIG grasshoppers, and locusts (basicly same thing).

RE: Re: RE: Locust!!We

if I came from one of those countries that like to eat locusts (im thinking india, cambodia and the like) I would think that a biblical event was taking place right now.

They are still out there, they are competing with the moths for th street lights i think

I think that is also the only movie I can remember in which bill paxton plays a good guy

He played Private Hudson in "Aliens".
He played Simon in "True Lies" (not a nice character, but not really a baddy).
He played Fred Haise in "Apollo 13".
He played a good guy in "U-571".
And most recently, Jeff Tracy in "Thunderbirds".

And, for the trivia buffs, he's also the only actor to have been killed by an Alien, a Predator and a Terminator.

:p

Just an update.
They estimate that the swarm that hit Wagga Wagga, consists of 700 Billion Locust.
The local horse racing committee have announced that there may not be any hosre races for some time as the locusts have eaten the track.
Local reptile keeper Greebo has some very fat Bearded Dragons.

RE: Re: RE: Locust!!We

if we get a bit more rain, they should be on their way out soon. apparently they like hard ground to lay their eggs and the rain has been making it soft. Reports have said that the swarm is spread out over around 20kms

RE: Re: RE: Locust!!We

I saw them on the news the other night and it looked like snow falling. Im glad they're not up here in Brisie.

RE: Re: RE: Locust!!We

Geebo, keep running reports on your size and frequency of beardie clutches. It would be interesting to see if you have a bumper year. Also as the beardies hatch you should also get heaps of hoppers in the area - Baby beardie food.

RE: Re: RE: Locust!!We

I freeze SFR's to use as turtle food and they love it.

You could probably freeze a couple of crate loads to last you a while.
