I've told her I've gotten my Bredli out this morning and sms' d her a pic to show how big he's getting.

She replies 'Ew he's so gross etc how could you let him sit on your shoulders' etc
I text back and I'm like... 'uhh a) he's cute and b) he wanted to sit there.. why do you hate snakes so much?'

Her reply.... 'they bite and kill. End of story.'
To which I said 'dogs have more chance of killing you than a (non venemous) snake and you've got 5!'

Some people amaze me with their lack of respect for snakes... they're animals too!

Just thought I'd share :)

I love doing things like that. Because I just love being entertained with people's stupid reactions. Oh well. Each to their own I suppose. Some love em, some hate em. And some couldn't care less. We are the lucky ones who have the awesomeness and common sense to love, respect and be able to keep them. I feel sorry when poeple only have animals that are always around even when you want peace and quiet. They need feeding every day, and follow you around the house waiting for food, then sit next to you at the table whimpering for your dinner and always needing walks and stimulation etc etc. oh and poop cleaning all the time.
haha don't get me wrong i love my dog to bits, but sometimes it's nice to have a quiet, calm, odourless animal that you can have out when you want or put away when you go out or don't want them. Really, there's so much benefit from a snake.

80% of friends comments on my face book pics are eew or yuck si I have pics of my dragons eating off my plate.... bluie on my shoulder. .... coastals in my hair over my ear, nose and kissing them.....im not a cat or small dog person so people's pics with them im probably the same

Yea, my guy was the same as my best friend (we have two dogs as well) and now he loves how little effort they require and how quiet they are. He's gone from "Ew keep it away" to "you can have 10 more snakes before another dog"... people just need education I think lol :)

I love the whole 'Bite and kill' aspect. I wonder how dogs get their prey when it isn't served to them out of a can. And my bunny from fourth grade would vouch that dogs bite and kill... You know. If he had a head.

What did dog's do to you way to throw them under the bus...
Why not tell people how harmless most snakes are rather than your dog would probably kill you sooner...
Anyway same with me and people who keep dogs/cats/mammals and other weird animals they can go on all day but i rarely listen and won't change.

I have two dogs.. and she has 5, 3 of which are hunting dogs... so technically was just trying to point it out to her. Not 'throw them under the bus'. I was putting it in terms she'd be familiar with. I happen to love dogs but I'm sick of trying to explain they're harmless when all she thinks is 'bite and kill'.
