Hey guys,
We have a Stimpy and a Jungle that can't seem to get enough of their cool side... whether it's (warm side) 34 or down to 26, both of them love their cool side. The Jungle is on a heat lamp and the Stimmy on a heat cord. The Jungle stays cool side almost exclusively, unless out and about in the late hours of the night, while the Stimmy will occasionally switch. Problem is that when we get them out they are COLD. The stimmy was like ICE this morning and liked to heat up with us but when put back and presented with her warm side, she went straight into her cool side. ??? Jungle was the same this arvo (though not quite as cold, being later in the day). Has anyone come across this before? They both seem happy and healthy, it just seems odd they're willing to be so cold...? Thanks in advance

My Jungle when she was in a click clack stayed on the cool side all the time....I'm not sure whether it was because the branches were better or anything but hey, she liked she liked it! She still hangs around the cool side, but she's happy and healthy :D

depends on the temps if they are 30-32 it should be fine, i was told though that if they are always at the cool end it may be that the temps are too hot
that or they are uber-ninjas and get heat without you even knowing it!.

Is there enough places to hide on the hot side? It may not be the temperatures but security?

My Coastal hovers around the cool side 60-70% of the time, it's usually between 26-28 degrees and he seems perfectly happy and healthy :)

How are you measuring your temperatures?

Temps are measured with thermometer probe on both sides at ground level.

Have hides on both sides. Exact same for Stimmy, very similar for Jungle and swapping them around still sees him in the cool side.

Not sure where you are, but it's damn hot currently in Queensland (I'm sure elsewhere too considering it's summer). None of my snakes have been found in their hot sides for a while now (aside from when they take a nice stroll around their tanks). As long as they're eating, consider it a "they know best" situation.
